Pied-e-Terre

The program brief for a 1-bedroom apartment located in a Houston high rise apartment building overlooking River Oaks was to provide an edited yet glamorous Houston residence for a couple, and their two cats, who were downsizing from their traditional home of many years and planning to spend half of the year in a second home on the West Coast.  The client asked that we find every inch available for storage and design a space for their contemporary art collection.

The plan is composed of an entrance hall, with an adjacent powder room and office nook, living room, kitchen, and bedroom, with an adjoining closest and bath.  Each space is complemented with architectural woodwork consisting of custom trim and cabinetry.
